After careful consideration, Pastor Cephas has embark on a new series entitled Understanding Spiritual Warfare. Last year pastor dealt with a series called, "The Demonic Hierachy". In that series, he exposed the organization and agency of spiritual darkness working against humankind. He also dealt with the culture, career and origin of these spiritual authorities. But in order to strengthen the prayer life of many believers, it was necessary to go into detail, why we pray the way we pray and why we cannot ignore Satan in our daily lives. Our critics have complained that we spent awful amount of time talking about demons, witchcraft and Satan. Our critics wish us to talk more on the love, mercy, and compassion of God. They see no need to talk about demon possessions and demonic agencies operating against the people of God. Pastor Cephas responded, "Honestly, I concur that their indictment is true. Yet I make no apology for our guilt as charged. As a revivalist, I believe in praying for souls with my life on the line. I believe in teaching the love and compassion of Jesus with all passion. Yet, I cannot imagine Jesus seeing a man possessed with the devil, and saying "son I love you" without casting the demon out of him. Oh no, I can't imagine Jesus, seeing a sick and crippled person and saying, "woman, sorry you are sick, My Father loves you regardless. Such a cheap shot at the gospel is unwarranted and unbiblical. True compassion and true love, will cast out demons, and heal the sick. This was part of our charge when Jesus commissioned us to go into all the world and preach the gospel." However, could it be that the fault is not from our critics, but rather the ignorance of the pulpit of today. The pulpit of today has failed to explain and the teach the gospel rightly. We have done many things from the pulpit with assumptions and presumptions without any explanations as to why we do it. We use the anointing oil, as though everyone should be familiar with it. We speak in tongues as though it is a norm that everyone must get use to. We fail to teach; our emphasis on preaching is killing the congregation. Therefore, in these series, Pastor Cephas, begins from the foundations of spiritual warfare. This is a must listen series for all Christians. The Secret Place of Prayer

This sermon is from the series Teach Us to Pray. Every Friday night at Honeywell Baptist Church, Pastor Cephas instructs the church to pray. Many have taught that prayer is a christian inheritance, and needs not to be taught. Pastor Cephas agrees with them partially. However, if a person is under the rule of government and does not have knowledge of his constitutional law and Bill of Rights, he can not enjoy to the fullest extent his citizenship. What you know and others don't know, is the difference between you and them. Prayer must, and needs to be taught.
